Ideation

IterAI began with the observation that user research can be overwhelming for people who are new to the process. It can be hard to know which methods to use, what steps to take, or how to make sense of the feedback you collect. We wanted to create something that could guide designers without doing the thinking for them, combining AI-powered recommendations, step-by-step guidance, and collaborative user testing so they can learn by working through their own projects.

Audience

IterAI is designed for beginner designers and students who are still learning how to approach user research. Many new designers understand that research is important, but may not know which methods to use, how to structure a study, or what to do with the feedback they receive.

Problem

User research can feel confusing and overwhelming when you are new to the design process. Many existing tools are built for people who already understand research methods, which can leave beginners unsure of where to start or what steps to take next. We wanted to make that process feel more approachable and easier to learn.

Research

We looked at common UX research methods, existing design and testing tools, and the ways beginners typically learn user research. We also gathered early feedback on the concept and prototype to see where users were getting confused and which features they found most useful. These findings helped shape the guided workflow, peer testing features, and how the AI recommendations were presented.
